Heat, and restless legs

I’ve just been to the theatre. It was really hot and I found that I got such restless legs due to the heat. I was so uncomfortable and literally couldn’t sit still. I ended up taking my shoes and socks off which helped a bit. I must have really irritated the people around me!

this is a common occurrence for me if I’m too hot, and includes when I’m in bed. Does anyone else have this issue?

Yes I’m perimenopausal and find I get restless legs a lot more. Magnesium has massively helped.

I've had restless legs my whole life.

Magnesium helps, immensely, but also potassium supplemented via electrolytes. It stopped RLS in it's tracks for me. Just found out about it a couple of weeks ago. Using Applied Nutrition Hydration.

I suffer terrible restless legs, keeps me up most nights 😔. My friends husband tried the tying a sock round each foot on the underneath and knot it on the top, it helps a bit for me but he has a great sleep when he does it. Worth a try and hope it helps you. 😃

I have just started magnesium supplements. I had worse RLS when I was younger (I’m now 56). It’s not so bad now but so much worse when I’m hot. Consequently my room needs to be ice cold for me to sleep well!

Sorry it's getting worse. I have read that the instances tend to increase with age. So, always something for us to look forward to, I guess!

Wow I didn’t realise it was to do with heat, but that tracks. Magnesium spray is the only thing that helps me! The relief!

Magnesium spray sounds like a good option. I also find that a bath helps. I’ve been known to have several baths a night 🤦🏻‍♀️

Low Ferritin levels can really exacerbate restless legs. Worth getting checked
