New Fridge Freezer organisation

My Fridge Freezer died last weekend, and in emptying it (RIP the Lamb Crown) I realised that I was not making a good job of the freezer. The three packs of fishfingers were the give away... So my question is how do you organise and rotate your freezer stock control? For some reason, choc ices do not seem to be an issue!

New model arrives after lunch...

I keep it in sections, so top shelf is home cooked meals but frozen in portions, second shelf is all the vegetarian bought stuff and fish, third is meat and bottom is veg.

When something is used it goes on the next shopping list.

I am thinking of setting up a spreadsheet for dates in, when opened and when to replace. I think that the problem is, that unlike the fridge I cannot see it all immdiately.
