My Landlords Died - RIP

Hiya all,

Im just looking for advise really as it’s niggling away at the back of my head… My landlord has recently passed away, well I think recently but my estate agent failed to tell me (morally disgusting I think) my neighbour who is attached to me in the same property told me but went “Don’t worry myself of the estate agent wants to buy the property”. I mean I’m worried, there’s nothing on the housing market suitable for my family that’s affordable & I have no idea where everything stands at the minute.
The landlord has supposedly left his assets to no one and has stated that his estate is to be auctioned off and given to charity! Is there a way I can keep an eye on this without contacting my estate agent.

Extra information: my estate agents previously sold a property from beneath us, sold it to London council and gave us 3 weeks to pack up and no choice but to accept the property we’re currently in.

Any advice to help relieve some of my stress 🤦🏽♀️

You won't be able to afford it, will you? So, just look for something else or hope the agent keeps you on.

Post your query at LandlordZone - there are some knowledgeable posters in the Residential Lettings forum.

NB: what kind of lease have you got - how long to run?

I know, I keep looking but there’s nothing affordable. Do I have any rights to be informed on what’s going on throughout this process, I’m still paying rent but to where it’s going I have no idea. I’ve got two children here. I do keep looking but as said there is nothing affordable. For the same size property I’m looking at £1600 a month now. Thankfully our rents stayed the same at £850. But I’m not sure what I’m to do in terms of being informed of things
