CMS cannot verify ex husband address

I’m not really sure what to do here…..I opened a claim with CMS about 5 weeks ago. Doesn’t seem to be moving forward. I gave them the details of what understood was his address - his parents. He told me he is not working and has been out of work 6 months (hence no CMS…nothing) But CMS have said “his employer has been contacted” and they are waiting on them to verify his address. If they don’t confirm that this week then the case will be closed?! I guess it has thrown me by them using the term employer? But if he has no bills going to an address eg phone, car etc then how can they verify his address. If the employer doesn’t respond why is it fair the case is closed ….?
i obviously can’t trust anything he says and the CMS says the don’t back date the claim either
he hasn’t since the kids really either in 6 months
(this is a man I was with the best part of 20 years and married for over half that - we have 3 young children and I think I’m more upset than anything and wanting to vent)

also played in divorce but seems a little slow today!

Any post that comes for him, return to sender. If he wants his post, he'll have to register at his new address and not use you as a holding centre.
Also, if you go back to CMS and raise a complaint, they should try again to contact him. It's not your fault that he's hiding.

Thanks @DjCatnip I’ve been doing the return to sender but I suspect what I’m returning are final demands for payment etc so he’s got no incentive to register his new address with them

I have to pay him the divorce settlement soon/transfer of equity and I’m thinking I’ll just say to him he needs to provide proof of his new address for land registry etc before that can be done. If he doesn’t and holds up the payment of the equity past the deadline date in the financial order surely that’s his fault not mine?

Looking at the TR1 form which at some point will need to be done he will need to provide a proof of address for this so I’m inclined to say he needs to stump up this if he wants his money (and that way I’ll also have evidence for CMS)
