Does anyone have interstitial cystitis?

Hi, does anyone have interstitial cystitis and has had a Bladder instillation?

Did it help your symptoms and was it worth it in the long run and made a difference to you?

Yes I have it :) and I've had lots of bladder instillations over the years, I think a couple of different ones, cystistat was definitely one of them. I suffered horrendously for years but touch wood I've been in remission now for about 7 years, and aside from the odd flare it doesn't bother me at all. The instillations did help so I would say if you're suffering go for it

I did suffer from IC, but I cut out lots of different fluids which were irritating the bladder and it's stable now. I still have to avoid and be vigilant. I'm sorry I can't help with advice about the bladder installation as I've never had one.

Do you have any ideas as to what's causing the IC?

@isolate34,thank you for you reply, I had the first treatment, don't know what was in it though, fingers crossed it will help me as it has you, sounds very positive your so good now.

@smallglassbottle,yes I find some drinks do irritate more than others and have further out.

No idea what's caused it but had it for 30 years but didn't know what it was until now.
