Dinosaur father... patience tested

My father, who is in his 80s is staying with us at the moment, he was widowed a few years ago, and since my mother's death he hangs around mainly with other octogenarian men and he has become horrendously sexist. He was always sexist but it is much worse now and also my tolerance levels are lower too.

Today he was playing scrabble with my DS aged 14, (who knows I think he is a geriatric dinosaur and very sexist) apparently when they were chatting he said "As a tolerant man, I've learnt to keep my counsel but women are very rarely right". I'm absolutely fuming!

How long is he staying with you? Because my response depends on that!

Three weeks and we only see him once a year, he lives in another country, I don't want to fall out with him but I'm annoyed and fin1pd his attitude unhelpful. At least my DS has the sense to know this is a very outdated and unpalatable view.
