Insufferable number of texts instead of a two minute phone call

Driving me fucking mad. Is it a generational thing? My kid’s friend wants to do some back to school stationery shopping. Asked my kid. I said yes. I’m happy to take them. I’m happy for them to be taken. I’m happy to meet parent(s) and go. Kid’s friend comes back with a time. Then changes it. Then says doesn’t know if can go. I’ve got to have conversations with the kid about timing as mum doesn’t like phone. Kid’s friend tells me to text her dad but doesn’t have his number. I have to find that out. I text him to ask for a time and does he want me to take them or meet them there. I’ve now had another message from kid saying she can go and I’m in some circular fucking hell. What time? Am I taking you? Just want them to tell me what they want me to do within their batshit parameters. Would have just binned it off, but my kid now wants to go with her friend who seems just as incapable of answering a question as the rest of her family. Such a fucking time suck.

Why didn’t you call them, then?!

Just say to your son/daughter “Sort it out between yourselves and when there’s a definite plan in place, let me know…”
