I desperately need recommendations for novels to take me through the summer and beyond!

That's it really.

I used to love reading and still do but will admit to.having gone off the boil a bit in recent years. This is mainly because I love classic literature and gothic horror etc, but, tbh, I don't have the attention span, time or capacity nowadays to really get into a good book.

I like horror, supernatural, atmospheric, dark and brooding. Need something thats not hugely taxing to read but with a great story. And reads like it was written for adults and not teenagers!

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I don’t read much Horror but I’m reading something set in the COVID pandemic at the moment that has some ghosts and gore. Bat Eater by Kylie Lee Baker.

The nearest thing to a horror I’ve read this year is Starve Acre by Andrew Michael Hurley which was short and creepy. I enjoyed it.
