Can anyone please help with returns info... panicking

Hi all,

So I returned 2 orders a week ago to the same retailer. One has been refunded and the other has not. I'm trying to locate the proof of postage and can't find it and having a huge panic. I've found it for the refunded order but not the other. I keep them all together.
I'm now having a panic that I have sent it to the wrong place! It was a large, expensive amount of items.

It was returned via DPD and usually this place required you to print the label. However for this particular order I downloaded a qr code, which seemed odd it itself. I'm worried I accidentally ended up on some old qr code.

I still have a screenshot of the qr code. Id written the order number on it, so I could locate it when it was being scanned at the post office.

Does anyone know if there is a way I can work out where this barcode is linked to? Some online scanner or something?
I'm hugely panicking as it's a lot of money.
Thank you.

Take it to a post office and ask them to scan it. It will tell you who the label is addressed to.
Eta... make sure it's a post office that work on behalf of dpd

Can you use the order number on the DPD website to track?or do you mean the order number for the retailer? If you generated a qr code online has it linked the return to your email? Sometimes parcel tracking emails go in my spam

Aquestiontoponder · 03/08/2025 18:23

For some reason I can't locate it anywhere in my emails! I also have been doing quite a few returns lately because we are going away soon.

All I have it a qr code (attached image). I know this is definitely the one I used for the parcel because after I downloaded it, I wrote a note on the bottom saying what order it was for. However I'm now worried it's not for the right retailer. I have 3 proofs of postage for that day and none of them match the order address or are for DPD.

If I've sent it back to the wrong retailer...how likely am I to get it back? It was so much money 😥

@PInkyStarfish how did you do that? I'm assuming it's for Abercrombie and Fitch then. I've no idea how I've managed to do this. I've not ordered from there for a while

I’ve tried it again on a different website and it comes up the same

Label=2|QRCode=JGB 6209H24F0656608000084BCD5D7 0110125 TSS01 OT694285416GB NATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTRE XX401FF9ZGB XX401FF 70044377255 |1DBarcode=OT694285416GB|SendersDetails=GXO ANF&Abercrombie and Fitch&National Distribution Centre&Rushden&XX40 1FF|RetDetails=AFH Stores UK Ltd&Abercrombie Returns&National Distribution Centre&Northampton&XX40 1FF|CustomerRef=|CustomerReference1Label=Customer reference:|CustomerReference1Value=70044377255|CustomerReference2Label=Department reference:|CustomerReference2Value=||

I would contact Abercrombie & Fitch.

These are the 2 proof of postage I have from the same day. So one must link with the QR code. I couldn't identify them as they are a generic national distribution centre but I think one is John Lewis (makes sense).

Thank you so much for that. I am so grateful. Not sure I'm hopeful I'll get it back but I will contact them. If I can work out which tracking info matches the postcode, I can then see if they at least received the parcel. I'm such an idiot.

Don’t beat yourself up about it, technology doesn’t always work and system errors can occur.

Good luck with finding the missing parcel and I hope you can get it sent back to you to resolve.

Aquestiontoponder · 03/08/2025 19:04

Thank you @PInkyStarfish I'm so grateful to you. I've now tracked the parcel and it's been received at the location. When it was received and opened by Abercrombie, they will have seen there were a load of brand new items from a different retailer. Also the return label was out on top of my address label, so they would have been able to see my address and name.
In theory, it should definitely be with them but I don't hold out much hope.
