Fed up with male comments

In the last week I have had 5 different strangers in 3 different cities tell me I look pretty, beautiful, gorgeous.

On every occasion I was walking along the road in the daytime and they said it as they walked past me. One started following me, so I stopped and told him to fuck off.

I'm nearly 50. Nothing has changed about me. I can't remember ever having this sort of comment outside of a bar. So 5 in the same week whilst walking down the street is freaking me out.

It's also really annoyed me that they think it's ok to behave in this way. Do they expect me to stop and chat?!

Anyone else experienced this? And any good retorts to offer?

I think if you look a bit different or 'exotic' in certain locations you'll get more attention. I guess nobody has done this to me since I was in my early 30s. As long as they don't pester you and just leave it at the one comment I'd probably just smile and walk away.
I certainly wouldn't stop and talk to them.

I wouldn’t respond. Any kind of response is giving them attention. Best to ignore and not smile. If anything, just give them a distant vacant look

Well OP says it's in 3 different cities so obviously not the same street.
She has obviously morphed into some sort of sex goddess without realising it.

I have never experienced anything like this. But I have massive resting bitch face which works wonders.

How are you feeling? I have worked with vulnerable women in DV settings and when unwell and stressed men seemed to approach them because they show a vulnerability. Even if they are not aware.

I'm wondering if going from 75mg HRT patch to 100mg HRT patch has caused it, as the timeline is the same. 😉

My MH is absolutely fine.

Maybe it's because all 3 cities were unfamiliar, so they picked up on my sense of "where am I going now?"

If its just comments id just smile and keep walking.
I dont even get looked at anymore lol if anyone says i like your shoes or bag i take the comment with a smile it feels like ive won something.
If someone walked past and said i oh she looks lovely etc i think id faint its been that long.😂

I mean its better then having 5 men walk past you and call you an ugly munter.

Probably going to get roasted for this..But at 50 I’d just be happy with the compliment 🤣
