If you have long covid, how long before you stopped trying to trick yourself you could still do things?

I had a ticket for Oasis tonight. Thought it’s in Summer which is the one holiday a school virus doesn’t tend to ruin. I hoped increasing my iron would help energy (on meds to reduce amount of blood loss and been on tablets for months). Ferritin still in the teens though. I went to a hospital appointment in the week and been in bed since. Just absolutely wiped. I knew I probably wouldn’t be able to make it, even without the appointment. I know this is life now, but it’s still gutting. How long has it taken others to reach the right balance of acceptance and hope? Upside is at least it’s made someone else’s day.

its not life now...plenty of people can and do recover and even if they dont fully recover, you can improve with the right advice (i'm very long term CFS,v.v.slowly improving but i've been ill for decades) . There's an awful lot of free stuff now on youtube ,huge amount posted since the epidemic .are you under your local long covid/CFS service (in a lot of areas these services combine). try google youtube Raelen Agle for starters . In the uk the optimum health clinic has some free online resoruces , as does Dan Neuffer (ans rewire) ....but you dont have to go down the paid route. The last link (Coffi)is hosted by someone who has recovered from long covid https://www.youtube.com/c/RaelanAgle https://www.theoptimumhealthclinic.com/

Took me a year to stop being an arse and pushing myself. 2.5-3 years now though and still not recovered. Don’t think I ever will now.

I had long Covid for 2 years. I took Your Gut Plus supplements as there is increasing evidence Covid lives in the gut. After a month, my cough went, after 2
months I was back to normal. The change was incredible. They are about £100 for 3 months I think but honestly, life changing. I heard about them in my long covid clinic and they were trialled by one of the big universities so science based. I hope they work for you.
