Would love to hear from anyone who has stayed here, it looks lovely I'm just wondering about nightlife. Are there restaurants & bars in the old town? We prefer to stay either B&B or self catering so we can eat out each night and would like a bit of choice/variety. I can't find much online other than talk about the castle and scenery/beach's etc.

We were there recently. It’s lovely but I found the main beach too busy for my liking. Loads of restaurants and bars in the old town, plenty of choice. It had a great buzz in the evenings but very civilised, lots of families and couples.

I used to go there a lot 25 years ago. It had lots of bars and restaurants then so I imagine there are more now. I really liked it. A mix of nationalities and Spaniards.

So glad to hear this thank you both! I prefer the pool to beach so don't mind that beach is busy just glad to hear there's a choice of restaurants. Im hoping it will be a bit like Nerja (but smaller obviously) Looking forward to it now!

Tossa is a nice little resort (much nicer than the surrounding resorts). We even did a day trip to Barcelona on the bus from there). Nice wide beach, plenty of restaurants and bars for a week or so. Castle and a small Roman ruins site.

I find Google maps good for this sort of question.

You can often walk the streets virtually to see what's there and most of the time there will be something about any restaurants - location pins, photographs of the menus and food, that sort of thing.

It's not as reliable with Spanish independents because sometimes they don't have much of an online presence but you can usually get a good idea whether its the sort of place you're looking for, or trying to avoid.

Went there years ago to stay with friends who had a holiday apartment there, very close to the beach. It was really lovely. Lovely shops and bars.
