Smart Watch for a 9 Year Old

Any recommendations for a basic smart watch for my 9 year old DS? Don’t want to spend a fortune but don’t want it to break after a few weeks 🤪. Thanks in advance.

What ‘smartness’ do they need? Check school rules too, not allowed at my kids primary or secondary until 6th form

Just to tell the time and track his steps. He’s very sporty so I think he would enjoy the fitness option not for messaging or phone calls.

We have a Garmin kid one for our son, he loves it.
can buy cheaper replacement straps for it as well so can change the colours etc

he likes that he doesn’t need to charge it and it’s just battery replacement etc

Both my kids have the kids garmin - excellent battery life and has a timer on it. Really impressed

Kids Fitbit - my daughter has the ace one and been really impressed
