Why do I keep losing things?

It’s beyond a joke now. I’ve lost my expensive specs. I’ve retraced my steps and went to each shop id visited that day. I’ve tried to recreate every part of the day I lost them . But nothing.
today I’ve lost my sunglasses.

its causing me to wake up throughout the night wondering where stuff is. It’s really getting to me.
can anyone relate?

Is this something which has recently got worse? It might be worth discussing with your GP.

Is your house messy? It’s like finding a needle in haystack here! Things eventually turn up, somewhere…

Not a messy house. Maybe a messy brain I’m thinking now

This was me: perimenopausal and finally diagnosed with adhd after a lifetime of suspecting it. One of my kids was diagnosed and it made sense.

i get the waking in the night too. I feel so stupid when I lose things. I’ve disciplined myself into not leaving things in places that are out of the ordinary because my brain won’t automatically retrace my steps, it’ll be hard work to do that.

Using bright colours helps. My mother has trouble with this, so bright phone case, glasses etc.
