The grange hospital in Newport Wales, has some building work going on at A&E. it’s a brand new hospital but the A&E waiting area is a joke, it’s smaller than my GP waiting room and you can’t get a patient in a wheelchair between the seats. I guess they want you to arrive, see people sitting on the tarmac outside and leave.
Anyway. They have building work. They e closed the car park outside children’s A&E. it’s empty. No ambulances or building work and not near the actual work.
The worst thing is the entire A&E car park is just full of contractors cars and vans. Not even hiding it, the vans are labelled up with the companies and men in high vis vests sitting in their cars eating lunch. There is no room for patients. We’ve been here a few times and they pay for someone at the entries ce I guess to give the idea they’re telling contractors not to, but it’s fucking rediculous.
Just park outside the hospital and walk up or provide them a bus. If the news crew arrived now the vans are not even disguised and you can see every company blocking patient access let alone all the cars.
Not being able to take your child to A&E because of workmen is fucking stupid. The hospital and contractors know this is happening and doing nothing about it. For months.
