Will loop earplugs stop me hearing other people’s conversations?

I have hit perimenopause and the sound of other people’s conversations now drives me crazy. Poor people are not doing anything wrong, it is very much a me problem!

Would loop Engage earplugs help drown this out? I have AirPods but I don’t always want to be listening to a podcast or song, sometimes I just want to talk to my family/friends and not be constantly distracted and irritated by conversations near by.

No idea but I have the same thing. Mine is with other noise too, like loud music from a phone on the bus for example. I now keep asking people to turn it down and am seen as a completely grumpy old sod.

Yes, they help. They won’t stop you hearing other people completely but they’ll be quieter, like they’re further away, so easier to ignore.

Thank you. I ordered some today and will test them on the train to London this weekend.

IME they don't stop much at all. Very slightly muted is the best I could say.

I just don’t seem to be able to filter out people’s conversations and then get enraged by how boring and vapid they are. Poor people, they don’t deserve my silent hatred because their discussion on scented candles or a local restaurant is annoying me.

I've binned mine. I've tried so many things, from £300 bose and some other main brand noise canceling headphones, to builders ear defenders, these loop ones, and honestly the only thing that stops me hearing others talking is to put on some music or an audio book. It's annoying because it's still additional stimulation, which can be so tiring at the end of the day, but it's all I've found that works.

I love mine, I can't concentrate on driving with my children in the back chatting loudly (or yelling) at each other so I use my loop engage earplugs to turn their volume down to a bearable level. I can still tune into their conversation if I want to but it makes them much easier to ignore so I can focus.

I have loop quiets can still hear conversations but it blocks out the worst.

Try brown noise. It's great at tricking the brain into not processing other sounds. I use a podcast called Brown Noise Sleep Sounds.
