Help needed putting asthma spacer back together

I've washed my aerochamber plus, and there is a floppy grey bit, a bit like a washer. I'm not sure where it came from, and wherever I put it, the spacer feels wrong when I use it. I've googled and watched you tube videos but none show this large grey washer bit. Does anyone have this spacer and know where it should go, and which way round? Thanks!

It fits between the clear chamber cylinder and the mouthpiece. No idea how you managed to get it apart as mine isn’t removable! I can only take the piece of which the inhaler fits into.

lissetteattheRitz · 29/07/2025 20:40

I couldn't get mine apart either

lissetteattheRitz · 29/07/2025 20:43

Here is the washer

Picture under review - in situ in spacer

Mynewnameis · 29/07/2025 20:45

Ive never taken off that end either

RafaistheKingofClay · 29/07/2025 20:47

I’ve never taken off that end. Am now attempting to.

lissetteattheRitz · 29/07/2025 20:47

It looks to me that the washer is facing the way it should fit in the clear plastic part in the picture

RafaistheKingofClay · 29/07/2025 20:49

But yes I can see it under the mouthpiece in mine. How the hell did you manage to get the mouthpiece apart.

Springup24 · 29/07/2025 20:49

Oh dear. That explains why I can't see it on any instruction manual!

I've tried to attach two photos. Does it go in like the first or second image?

Thank you!!

I’ve never taken that end off either. Only the end where the inhaler goes and then I run some hot water through.

Springup24 · 29/07/2025 20:50

I take the mouthpiece off everytime I wash it 🤣 I had no idea other people didn't!

I think maybe I'll go and ask for a new one tomorrow... 🙈

I’m not the only one sat trying to take theirs apart now, am I?

Don’t worry. I do have a spare if I break it totally.

Springup24 · 29/07/2025 20:54

🤣

I don't want to be responsible for a national shortage of spacers when everyone has snapped the mouthpieces and have random bits of grey washer lying around.

The washer is facing the same way here as your first photo OP

*as far as I can see

Springup24 · 29/07/2025 20:57

@lissetteattheRitzthank you! I'll use it like that for now.

lissetteattheRitz · 29/07/2025 20:58

How are you doing OP? 😁

lissetteattheRitz · 29/07/2025 20:59

You can always check with a pharmacist. They'll probably give you a new one. I can't absolutely see but it looks like the ridge part of washer faces down into the clear plastic part

lissetteattheRitz · 29/07/2025 21:00

Second image looks better but check with pharmacist. I don't want you to be stuck if my advice is wrong.

Springup24 · 29/07/2025 21:03

Thanks. It feels a bit... flappy 🤣

Having now realised this is not a standard issue, I think I'll go and get a new one tomorrow 😆😆

When I was referring to the first photo I meant the opening post. Your other two images hadn't uploaded.

Of the two images, the second looks better. Anyway hope it's reassembled now.

lissetteattheRitz · 29/07/2025 21:06

Oh definitely get a new one. Flappy's not good but you did your best.

You must do a VERY thorough house clean 😁

lissetteattheRitz · 29/07/2025 21:07

[eyes dusty skirting boards but intact spacer]

RafaistheKingofClay · 29/07/2025 21:10

Yeah flappy doesn’t sound good.

I have failed to remove the mouthpiece and given up. Spacer still intact.

Springup24 · 29/07/2025 22:11

Ha ha, I WISH the cleanliness of my (broken) spacer was reflective of the cleanliness of my house 🤣

And glad your spacer has survived to live another day@RafaistheKingofClay
