Help l think l have bedbugs

I am absolutely terrified that I have bedbugs in my house. I was in London with friends 10 days ago, l slept on the sofa which was made into a bed but didn’t actually sleep under the covers just on top and l brought my own pillowcase (which was washed as soon as l got home). Yesterday l noticed a line of red spots on my torso and today l found what looks quite like a squashed bedbug on a chair near to my bed.

I travel to London every few months for work and l am always super careful about wiping my case down and unpacking in a clear area with hard floor and putting all clothing from it straight into the washing machine so l’m absolutely devastated that even despite all my precautions this is happening to me and l can feel myself starting to spiral.

I have very carefully steamed every inch of my bed, mattress and skirting and soft furnishings in my bedroom and obviously washed everything at high heat. For things which can’t be washed at high heat l have packed into sealed bags and l am going to put them in a large freezer l have access to for a week or so. I intend to thoroughly steam clean everything in my bedroom twice a day for the next few weeks and all other soft furnishings in my house every few days, is there anything else l can do? Like l said l can really feel myself starting to spiral mentally over this and l am also so embarrassed that this is happening to me, my friends and colleagues always laugh at me for all the precautions l take! 😩
