Storing hand me downs?! Where to put everything?

I am due my fourth child in December, I still have some nice coats which will definitely come in handy for the next baby when he is bigger but what is the most effective way to store things? I have stored things in the loft but honestly I forget about them and end up buying new. I got out some baby clothes I kept and found clothes that would have fit my son this year but completely forgot about!! Feel like we have soo many coats, winter accessories, shoes etc. where the hell does it all go?? I’m also a serious declutter and try keep things minimal but it all still feels SO overwhelming.

Pack, by age/size, into vacuum pack bags. Get the relevant age/size down when needed.

Take photos of the items and vacuum bag them. Store in the loft but keep the photos handy in the wardrobe - eg stuck on the inside of the wardrobe door, or as a separate album on your phone. Alternatively have a list on the inside of the wardrobe with an itemised note of the items, size, colour etc.

I do the giant shopper bags and have a label for each age.
They get filled up then go in the high bit of the wardrobe above the main bit.

I also do this for bigger sizes too as I but stuff in the sales.
