Energy tariff/fix

Gotta do this or I'll be on a variable rip off type thing.

Low to medium usage but not done a reading for a while, but usage hasn't changed.

Currently with Edf on a fixed tariff, ensure jul25 - at time I fixed shortly after it appeared to have been a mistake but then the base price thing went up and I was glad I did.

A colleague who used to work for energy co says it's the unit price you need to compare - is there anywhere that does this? Most switch places seem to want your latest reads which I don't have a recent one (disabled and one of my meters in a really awkward location been trying to get smart meter fitted for ages they never have appointments!!)

So 4 well 3 days to sort - help!

Currently paying £50 dd and almost £200 in credit

The tariffs Edf offering seem to be min extra £30 a month which I begrudge tbh

Have a look on martin lewis website (or a comparison website).
If your a low user you may be best staying with edf as they have one specifically for low users with reduced (or low) standing charge - I'm not sure but dc1 has just gone onto it. Also I think you'll need a meter reading to move. Are you on the priority service register if your disabled (for water/electric and gas) they may be able to get someone to read your meter/get a smart meter fitted.

You won't know if your monthly payment is the right amount if you haven't done recent readings so your credit balance may not be what it seems.

Can a friend/relative/neighbour take meter readings for you so that you can make a true comparison with different providers

Yea I'm on priority service. From looking at comparison sites looks like Edf still best bet I'll look at mse and see about that low user tariff
