What fibs have you told to get out of a social situation?

I absolutely hate telling little white lies to avoid attending something and feel so bad when I do! I’ve just told a little white lie to get me out of something later this afternoon (an England football final party). Make me feel better by telling me about the fibs you’ve told.

I’ve said my phone microphone isn’t working when I have been having an “anti social don’t want to speak to anyone” day but haven’t done that for quite a while .

Said I was going to London to avoid a New Years Day get together in 2000

Didn’t have a missed call - how strange!

Is it a big group of people going? If so, I wouldn’t feel that bad tbh - it’s not a birthday or anything. Just say you don’t feel well.

I said I was dealing with a hostage crisis when a friend of a friend wanted me to go to ComicCon with her after someone else dropped out.

Honestly, I don’t usually tell lies. I pulled out four days before a long-planned trip with my sister recently, and told her some of the truth. That something had happened I was struggling to process, and I wasn’t ready to talk about it yet. The reality is that she will be terribly upset by it, even though it’s not primarily to do with her.
