Third date at lunchtime. Nervous.

I have a third date at lunchtime with a lovely man. We’re going for a walk and then he is coming to my house for a bit of food.

I think we may have sex. I’d like to. He’s lovely and I fancy him, and I have the house to myself all afternoon, and we kissed after dates 1 and 2. I know he also has the time and has shown interest in texts etc.

I’m nervous though. Not because of him but because I haven’t for a few years since DH and I split up. A man has never been to my house in fact. I don’t want it to be awkward or shit. I think it should be good but I don’t know what his expectations are or how these things are meant to go!

Just posting for distraction really whilst I wait!

This is a normal train of thought. My best advice is don’t overthink it. It’ll be fab I’m sure. Also I think the 1st time you have sex with someone it isn’t always the best as you are both nervous and don’t know each others bodies properly. Think the 2nd or even 3rd time can be better - just like your dates!

Thanks. Yes I’m trying not to overthink! But I’m excited and nervous so it’s hard to and yes. I will try to ramp down expectations. I’ve almost forgotten what to do myself!

This date is a couple of hours away - don't sit around and wait just get on with things then you might not feel so nervous! I'm sure all will be well.

Out of interest, what did the two previous dates involve? Going for a walk on a third date doesn't sound right to me, but I'm very old!

Arguing about the merits of a third date walk is just the kind of distraction I need! Thanks!

first date was a post work coffee that turned into dinner. Second date was a day at a NT place and afternoon tea. Very civilised!

They were. And he paid for the food at the NT place which must mean he’s a billionaire.

Just go with the flow. Enjoy his company, and if sex results from that then great. If not, there’ll be other times. 😊

Sounds great OP! A walk is a great Sunday lunchtime date. I'm excited on your behalf. Please let us know how it goes!!

I know, and I will. I’m not worried about whether there will be sex or not (I’ve waited since 2022 so I can wait a few days more!). It’s more that if it does happen it will be rubbish. What are we meant to wear / look like naked / do these days? I haven’t slept with a new man since 2010!

You see! It’s like riding a bike. You never forget! But some bikes have more gears than others 😘.

Yes indeed. It was definitely one of my more enjoyable Sunday afternoons 😊

Probably not up for a bike ride today. Somewhat, er, sore 😳
