Anyone know what bird this is?

My DH sent this picture from the golf course and asked what it is. I think maybe a tern or gull of some type or perhaps a wading bird but I can't quite pinpoint it. Little Gull was my best guess but I don't think it has red legs. We live by the coast/an estuary so it could be anything of that sort. Can anyone help me pinpoint what it is?

Black headed gull - but summer plumage or juvenile? Hence no black head.

Juvenile gulls are usually brown and white. They are also enormous and this looks much smaller.

There are several varieties of gull, and they're not all giant like hwrring gulls. Black-headed gulls are quite a small variety,. I'd say that's a juvenile black-headed gull.

Road Runner in disguise from Wile E Coyote?

Lesser spotted golf gull?

My serious offering is a sanderling.

Google image search says its a Black headed gull.

It's a black- headed gull, moulting its black (actually dark brown) head to mostly white for the winter.

Ha yes. I read the first post as black backed gull and they are definitely huge! My mistake. You are right it could be a black headed gull.
