Dinner By Heston Blumenthal - do they do a house wine

I booked a table then saw you had to email them for the wine list. I did and it was all crazily expensive. I had expected one or two more affordable options than there were. But there was no house wine listed at all which makes me wonder if they have one but don't put it on the list? I sent another email but didn't hear back. Has anyone been and had an affordable bottle of house wine? I just had some massively positive health news and want the biggest celebration of my life but I want to blow most of my budget on the food - I can't tell a decent wine from a fabulous wine so it would be wasted on me!

They won’t have a ‘house wine’ no. The wine list is the wine list. The sommelier is there to help you select something appropriate which also includes to your budget (it’s totally acceptable to say to the sommelier that you want something in the cheaper end of the list) but I’m afraid you are stuck with the wine prices on the list. They could possibly allow you to bring your own but would charge you corkage and you should definitely check first as many will not do it at all.
Can’t you just get a few wines by the glass maybe?

Oh no - that's so disappointing. The wine by the glass isn't any less insanely priced I don't think.

Actually, panic over - I just realised the white wine section goes on longer than i realised and there are a couple on there I would be able to afford. £45 or so but better than the first prices I was looking at!
