Specifically for women? I have diverticulitis and my GP suggested a good probiotic. There's so many out there I don't know where to start so I should be so grateful for some guidance.

I drink about 80ml kefir each morning and it’s really helped me digest other dairy foods & wheat, which I’d been having problems eating for over 20 years. I buy the unflavoured, unsweetened one from Tesco.

Chuckling Goat makes the best Goats milk Kefir. It's really potent and regularly tested. Worth checking out their website and story.

I also successfully treated my IBS/gut issues with kefir- nothing else really worked. After years of pain & resorting to very limited bland low FODMAP diet kefir cured me. Years later I still take kefir regularly & can eat what I want as long as I don’t go crazy. Last week I enjoyed some gorgeous black plums. Plums were my number 1 danger food - worse the supermarket bread.

OP - I like Nutrigold pro biotics. They have regular one & super charged one. Excellent therapeutic quality.

I use Biomel- it’s been great for my IBS. Quite expensive, but it’s been worth it as I don’t have to buy other medications.

Lamberts are pretty much gold standard probiotics. Also recommend kefir, and prebiotics from food.

For them to be effective you really need to have as much veg as you can each day

Optibac for Women is really good.

Pricey but it really covers all the bases and completely sorted out some gynae issues I had a few years ago in just a week.

That’s a good point, in addition to the kefir I make sure lunch & dinner have at least half a plateful of vegetables & breakfast includes fruit.
