We are going to be in Wells for a day. Is there anything in the area we should definitely see? My dh loves Hot Fuzz but there isn’t a tour on the day we are going. I want to see the cathedral. We don’t mind driving. It isn’t an area I have been to before so open to suggestions!

Oh goodness me! I haven't been to Wells since I was eleven years old with my dad but I think it's absolutely magical.

The most obvious attraction to visit is Longleat, of course but I think Wells is one of those places where you just soak up the atmosphere. Wish I was with you!

Bishops palace is lovely for a wander around. There’s a lovely cafe just before you go in to sit and have a nice coffee looking over the green. That’s next door to the cathedral. Not too far from wells is Wookey hole caves.

Oh, Vicar's Close of course but that's kind of inavoidable.

Bishops palace and the cathedral do a combined ticket nowadays (as they’ve recently started charging entrance to the cathedral). Don’t miss vicars close. Hot fuzz locations are easily found on Google but the Edgar Wright blue plaque is at the Blue School. There’s a public footpath through the school so easily spotted.

Can I just say "Yarp"?

Wells is lovely, but I'm not sure there is enough for the whole day. Maybe combine it with Glasto and do the abbey and tribunal.

Ah. DM used to live over there and work in Wells (at the Cathrdral). Wells is lovely, but nit a lot of it! Id combine with a trip to Glasto or Street - open air pool and Clark's shooping Village, whichever floats your boat.
