Help with Acne

My 18 year old has acne all over their back and face, its not the worst I have seen but they are feeling self conscious.

they have been using coal tar soap as recommended by their father but they have just told me its doesnt work

i had one pimple during my teenage years so i have no clue what else to recommend and they are now nc with their father so i cant reach out there

i was hoping you wonderful mumsnetters would be able to recommend some products/treatments for me. I was hoping for a body wash or soap, or even a body cream thats suitable for the face too.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

We had to resort to Accutane for 18 months of private treatment. It was the only thing that cleared it and stopped the scarring progression.

Go to the gp. My teen has been prescribed oral Lymecyline antibiotics and a topical product called epiduo. We initially tried the acnecide products but they didn't improve things enough.

I’d look at a fragrance free and something like Aleppo.

Hi op son the same. He on Roaccutane. It is improving. Not saying your son needs it but we found it wasnt improving with creams etc

Thanks everyone. Getting them to the GP is difficult and stressful for them so I am keeping that as a last resort. But i know OTC products can be hit or miss hence the question

So here is my routine that I follow for my kids:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
la roche posay spf
Evening:
la roche posay moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.025) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel
