What do I do?

I am in a bit of a tricky situation.
I work for a lovely couple, 3 days a week.
They brought me a car to help me out as I am on the verge of passing my test.
I wish to go to university next year.
The issue is, I cannot get a guaranteed timetable of the university course in order to know in advance if the days will align with my work here.
I cannot simply stop working for these people as they have done so much for me, however I really would like to go to university next year.
What should I do??

You most likely won’t get a real timetable until you’re accepted onto a course as timetables changes every year, so you might find out roughly the hours each day but they are subject to change. They can also change each semester depending on the set classes.

I would say, as much as it’s very kind what they’ve done, it’s still a job and you need to put yourself first. If you want to study and go to university then don’t let this job hold you back.

You could speak to them and explain you’re going to apply for university and would they be willing to swap your hours/ days to accommodate this? If not then please don’t let this job prevent you from applying. You may not work for this couple your whole life.

they wouldn’t give you the same loyalty. Follow your dream and go to uni. Think about your future.

But give the car back when you no longer need it to support them.

A uni timetable is often not fixed until term has started and options confirmed. Presumably they know your plans?

On a quick break so will respond properly later, just wanted to say thank you everyone so far!
