Private adhd assessment first assessment but waiting ages for completion?

How long does a private assessment take ? Had first assessment middle of April, filled out paperwork, told we would then have another meeting etc got the first assessment diagnosis and I’m still waiting ? It’s for adhd but now they think autism? Sent email last week for iodate but nothing ? He said 6 weeks but it’s been longer? I paid the initial assessment fees too Thanks

We had two ADHD assessment meetings second half of June. They decided we needed Autism assessment as well. First Autism appointment was last week and final assessment meeting is this Friday (delayed because they were on holiday I believe). No idea when treatment plan will start though.

Hi OP what do you mean by ‘first assessment diagnosis’? Do you mean they already gave a diagnosis and you are now just waiting for the written report, or just that the initial screening measures came back over the clinical threshold and you are now waiting for the full assessment?.. it does seem like a long time to wait . Are they part of a clinic or a sold practitioner? If part of a clinic can you call the clinic and speak to them to check what the hold up is?

Only had the initial screening, paid for that and got a report but it’s all gone quiet? Nothing, it did say possible asd too and was detailed Would it mean there is no diagnosis so no further actiob. It’s a popular private hospital so I know they are busy but surely not this busy. He said 6 -8 weeks and that was in mid April

That limbo after the first assessment is horrible.you think things should move forward and instead you’re left waiting with no clarity. i have been there and the uncertainty was worse than the waiting itself. i hopethey get back to you soon.🙂
