What kind of advice are you looking for? Places to visit? Good restaurants?

3catsandcounting · 22/07/2025 17:25

The caves! Especially on a hot day

Restaurant Oliva . Lovely food.

byronsbrain · 22/07/2025 17:42

Watching with interest as I’m going next week!

Scarlettas, huge portions and fab cocktails. Trattoria Italiano, just gorgeous Italian food - tagliatelle amatriciana amazing. Beach - playa le caletilla, down a ramp beside the main square (no stairs!).

JamPotJenny · 22/07/2025 18:33

Thanks!

sorry! Should have said!

I remember the caves - but thanks for the reminder. Would love some old areas to mooch around, nice eateries, some markets, some good leather shops etc.

Anyone been to Frigliana?

It was yeaaaaaars ago I went! But I remember the Balcon d’Europa being great for foods and drinks, and the caves were fab. We went to Frigliana with was picturesque and had some nice little shops and cafes. We also done a day trip to Gibraltar and went on a boat to see the dolphins.

sausageupanalley · 24/07/2025 11:00

Frigliana is lovely. Also worth a day trip up to Granada and to see the Alhambra if you haven't already, though you do need to book in advance for that

byronsbrain · 10/08/2025 21:45

I’ve stupidly bought 5 tickets to the caves and put the wrong date in! They are non refundable and I can’t reschedule so if anyone is going to Nerja on the 15th September and fancies going to the caves in the afternoon you can have my tickets! 4 adults and 1 child. X

Frigliana is lovely. An easy bus trip from the bus station in Nerja. Fantastic views, interesting shops and cafes. Not good if you can’t manage hills, steps etc.

JamPotJenny · 11/08/2025 11:30

I went and it was lovely. Didn’t see the caves - fully booked way in advance but we took the bus to Frigiliana and to Malaga. Loved the holidays. Fair bit of walking involved as our villa was about 20 mins from the beach but it was lovely.

We love Competa which is around a 45min drive up into the hills. It’s a gorgeous white washed town with enough shops and restaurants to make the trip worthwhile, enjoy!
