Inappropriate and sexualised tiktoks

I’ve name changed for this. Was scrolling on the search button on TikTok today and saw something that I found really inappropriate, more and more along the same lines started coming up. I reported it and I’ve just had the update to say they’ve reviewed the video and found it doesn’t violate their guidelines.

This isn’t the first time, earlier this week I searched for fashion on the app and was shown lots of videos of animals mating.

There’s no option to take it any further, I can’t tweet them, I don’t have a following. Is there anything more I can do?

This is 100% why I took my kids in their early teens off tiktok.

They were being shown loads of slightly sexualised videos at the bottom of their feed.

One of them also had got into "skin care" which I'm sure was from there. Lost interest after we got rid of the shitty app.

Nope it's the same with Facebook. I've reported lots of inappropriate stuff but they full well know that sexualised and shock/weird factor is what gets them people coming back and continuing to scroll. I don't even know why they have the option of report because I've never seen them use it. Must just be a tick box exercise. All you can do is either not use the app or tailor your algorithm to you so you see less of that. It will still occasionally pop up tho.

It’s such a worry isn’t it.

It’s made me feel sick to be honest. I’d searched for outfit ideas but sometimes get them when I search for recipes too. It wasn’t on my FYP if you see what I mean, it was suggested videos on the search bit.

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to mention what it was? It was a lot of videos of breastfeeding but sexualised. Women in fishnets and lingerie in suggestive positions and lots of men in the comment sections posting emojis.

Surely that has to be against guidelines? I feel awful for the children in the videos who now have this online and are being used for a man’s gratification.

No you’re right. I was just embarrassed in Bershka when I searched up, looking for outfit ideas and then had full volume, close up shots of what appeared to be a horse copulatingEnvy

I’m more concerned about why there is a market for these tiktoks? It’s nature yes but it’s hardly informative & Id like to know who’s watching them enough for them to keep being posted.
