What is your morning routine?

Oh wise women of MN… what is the morning routine that works for you? Mine is currently a disaster and looking for inspiration. Don’t wake up with alarm, hit snooze, rush getting ready, wet hair, stressed with kids etc etc… for context work full time with children who need to be dropped off for school. However am interested in anyone’s routine - hope some good examples give me a kick in the right direction!

Sorry, nothing helpful to add so I'll be following for ideas too!

Currently get up with an alarm, kettle on, get dressed (or showered depending on time), brush teeth and wash face/moisturise, kids up, tea and breakfast, mascara then off to school...

So sort me out first, then the kids. I try to have things ready the night before, or at least know where stuff is. Nothing worse than looking for a shoe when you should have left 5 mins ago!

Wake at 6am. Take coffee back to bed and do Mumsnet puzzles.

6.40- shower, wake ds, make his breakfast
7.00 - go and get dressed, makeup & hair
7.20 - pack a quick lunch, check ds has everything he needs
7.30 - leave
7.45 - drop ds at school bus
8.05 - arrive at work,

I always get up 10 minutes earlier than I "need to" which gives me wriggle room and an extra 10 minutes peace.

I do as much as I can the night before. Make lunches, lay uniform out, pack bags (PE kit / homework etc)

But yeah I find giving myself a little more time than I technically need is the most helpful thing.

6.30 alarm
6.45 get up and shower while DH gets kids up and makes their breakfast
7.00 go down and we all eat breakfast together
7.30 get DC2 dressed and ready
7.45 take DC2 to nursery while other parent supervises DC1 getting ready, doing spellings etc
8.35 leave the house with DC1. Walk to school and start work.

We have a lumie wake up light alarm clock thing. It has changed our mornings so much. It creates a sunrise by the light slowly coming on so you get a gentle wake up. We found we are not as sleepy or groggy waking up like this when compared with the sudden sound of an alarm clock! The sunrise starts around 30mins before the time you set. So for example if you set it for 06:00, it will begin at 05:30 and gradually get lighter so by 06:00 you’re awake. Highly recommend!
