Is there any hope for the future?

37 years old. Never been in a relationship beyond a few short-lived experiences in high school. No children, despite deeply wanting to be married and start a family.

Attended four different universities but dropped out each time, resulting in no formal qualifications beyond high school.

Never held long-term employment, aside from briefly delivering journals part-time during university. Has invested in cryptocurrency sporadically and once created an app, but it did not generate income.

Currently lives with their mother, and has only lived away from family briefly—once for a year at age 20, and during university (often returning home during the first holiday break due to homesickness).

Struggles with depression, which affects daily functioning—sometimes going weeks without showering as well as never brushing teeth. The depression also leads to anger outbursts, often directed at family or friends, which has contributed to having few social connections.

There is always hope for the future even if it may not feel like it at the time. Have you had therapy? If you could get the depression sorted you would have the brain space to figure out everything else, even if it’s just small steps.

Loads of hope, but it can only come from
you.
