A woman decided she wanted a swim at Weston-super-mare. Ended up needing rescue services. She's a bit dim bless her.

You sound a bit unkind.
She was one of 19 rescued and said there were no signs warning of the dangers. She lives 2 hours away from there, how would she know?
Its not like she walked up Snowdon in flip flops!

I don't think it's that people are dim but that they don't realise the danger of doing certain things.

We used to holiday there when I was a child. I'm 64 now, it's always been treacherous. I can clearly remember getting stuck and how scared I was.

"How would she know? It was coming past her ankles, she said "it was like quicksand" yet she carried on walking. So no, I'm not changing my 'dim' accusation.

You’ve only got to watch the RNLI rescue programmes now and then, to realise how unaware some people are of the dangers of the sea.

Apparently rescues involving paddle boards have increased dramatically in recent years - anyone planning on paddle boarding this summer, or with dcs who are keen, please be aware!!
