What are these stains and how do I get rid of them?

This has been cleaned but these simply haven’t come off.

Does anyone know what these stains are in the toilet bowl and how I can get them off?

I have included a picture but know they sometimes take a while to be approved by MN).

What are these stains and how do I get rid of them?

Looks like thick limescale rather than stain from the photo. Have you got tried any heavy duty limescale remover down there?

SeashellDREAMS · 19/07/2025 17:17

That's what it looks like to me too.
There are products that will dissolve it.

Breadcat24 · 19/07/2025 17:22

It is limescale
Keep dropping calgon tablets down - let them dissolve and vigorously scrub. Will go eventually
Not limescale binds hard to ceramics so you need some force, but do not scratch it

What would get rid of it? I’ve put harpic down and will scrub with gloves tomorrow.

Use the black harpic cleaner. Leave it on over night and it will be gone in the morning.

Limescale remover then put a glove on and hand down and scrub

Yep Harpic all the way. Best way I find is to push the water down the u-bend with the toilet brush (ducks and hides for cover mentioning toilet brush on MN) so the bleach can be undiluted as possible. Fill the u-bend with Harpic (again, ducks and hides for cover for suggesting on MN pouring pretty much a whole bottle of bleach down the loo) and leave it overnight if possible. Should lift off in the morning.

I was going to say the same thing.

It looks like limescale. Empty the loo by using an old towel to soak up the water then apply Jeyes Limescale Remover. Stubborn deposits can be scraped off with an old credit/store loyalty card as they won’t scratch the surface.
