Ticks are just everywhere this year

It's unbelievable! For the first thirty years of my life, you'd v v occasionally hear about someone getting one. About a decade ago, they started getting more common. From about five years ago, you might get one or two a week (but mostly not). This year, I've heard of a kid coming back from a walk with over 50 on him. He was wearing trousers too. The numbers seem to be exploding. Anyone else noticed this? We are in a rural area.

We get a lot of ticks near us in the SE but do have deer walking around. Suppodedly it is a high risk area for Lyme too. I have had tick bites 3 or 4 times a year in the last 5 years and the early symptoms of Lyne once for which I took antibiotics.

Where do you live OP? I have to be careful when I walk in the Scottish Highlands.
I think ticks are on the increase because of milder winters.
