Mental! However Sweden only have themselves to blame. 2-0 up and didn’t manage the game properly. Never should’ve been in a position to go to ET or penalties. You could almost see the last Swedish kicker’s heart break in two when she skied that penalty.

How the fuck have we done that? We burgled that result. We were played off the park for most of the game, then we were marginally less crap in the worst penalty shootout I have ever seen.

In fairness, England showed extraordinary resilience, but you have to feel for Sweden.

My god those penalties were dreadful.

It was chaotic, but so exciting. The Lionesses got their shit together, didn't give up and now they're through. Bloody brilliant!

Why did Sweden have their goalie take a penalty?

I cannot, for the life of me, fathom why Carter has a starting place, and how she stayed on so long. She is slow, makes bad decisions, and poor ball placement.

James has amazing skills but tries to show off and usually fails.

Agyemang totally shakes things up and brings a whole new dynamic. Excited to see what she can achieve in this squad.

And then there’s Kelly. How can you not love her. What a character and player!

It would have made a great ending for Sweden if she’d scored the winning penalty after having saved four against her.

Actually you’ll find in a lot of teams goalies can be great to take penalties. Not all of the, should though 🫠

Not always. It comes down to who is confident to step up aswell. Theres a chance it could have gone on for longer and Hannah might have had to take one.
