Mine was a student house in Sunderland - because the people made me happy and because I was free (and young!)

My first home when I left my abusive ex. After 10 years together, years of fertility treatment and finally pregnant he became abusive. I bought it in an area I didn't know, but commutable to work and was very happy there for 10 years. My dc were brought home there, it had a small but safe garden, great views and was so peaceful. It was nothing special an 80s, 3 bed mid terrace but it was a safe space.

Loads of my previous homes feel like this it would be hard to pick. My childhood home, student house (carefree), flat with boyfriend, house I had my babies in, house I am in now (raised my kids in). Only one that has unhappy memories, that's to do with an unhappy time in my life. My home is always full of happiest memories. I feel blessed.

It’s a tie between my current apartment where I have been for less than a year, and the apartment before it where I lived for 4 years. Since I turned 30, and since Covid was out of the way, life has been getting better and better :)

My house I’m in now, we bought it when DD1 was 1 and rennovated it just after DD2 was born. We are here nearly 15 years and it has been the place of our memories - it’s not fancy or in a trendy place but it’s been a great home and I’m very grateful it’s ours

The first house we bought together. We were there 6 years and should never have moved away. Loved that house.

Current home in Derbyshire. DH and I bought it together and are gradually doing it up. I love seeing him wander round looking at our work with a little smile on his face. ❤️

Our last home. 2 of my babies were born there, it was home for our stepdaughter for a while and our first house we bought together. I now live in a better house but I don't feel the same about it. It's just a house and we've had a shit few years while living here so few lush memories attached.

Current house. It was beyond what i thought we could ever have. We did it up ourselves and it's just perfect. Nice neighbours, nice walks from the door and lovely garden.

My childhood home. Didn't realise at the time because it was my normal, but I had a lovely childhood. I am extremely happily married but the house we live in was the house I lived with my ex in and memories of my life with him are obviously still there.

I have two

my first house after I left my narcissistic husband. I been with him from 17 to 27, he controlled me, emotionally, sexually and financially abusive. After I left I rented a few places but after about 4 years I’d saved enough to buy. I loved living on my own and had a very happy 10 years there.

my current house too, it’s my dream forever home, I have dogs and horses and a DH who I adore, we are very happy here and never intend to move
