Omaze Cornwall

Shall we rent it out or sell? I do t know Cornwall that much but imagine the views would make it an attractive holiday rental. As long as someone was doing all the work 😀

This is just a fantasy not a serious thread. I prefer it to the footballers house omaze.co.uk/pages/cornwall-v?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=CjwKCAjwvuLDBhAOEiwAPtF0VoJK9-0OqO_5aNqYt27M2Twi2XwUunNRJn4BzxGXOZrTFWYn6_bzUBoChJcQAvD_BwE&utm_campaignid=22798137785&utm_adgroupid=&utm_adid=&utm_keyword=&utm_matchtype=&utm_campaign=EX_ACQ_OMAZE_GG_UK_GooglePerformanceMax_PMAX_Brand&utm_adgroup=%3Fgc_id%3D22798137785&gbraid=0AAAAACgIyQG6aCsgXAzGliD-VtniUz22d

If you go on rightmove and search Portthcothan bay the house is there showing sold for £3.5 m

Better pictures and shows it is not right on the beach

madaboutpurple · 17/07/2025 12:12

I say have a few holidays and then sell it back to Omaze and buy a cheaper house, live off the proceeds and give up work if you are not retired.

EachandEveryone · 17/07/2025 13:04

I can’t find it on rightmove. Is there no parking?

Snookysue · 17/07/2025 17:10

Can't find details on any of the propeety sites for Porthcothan or Treyarnon Bay (which is where I think it is)

AngelsWithSilverWings · 17/07/2025 17:38

Found it on rightmove. Parking for 2/3 cars and there is a garage. 5 min walk to the main visitors carpark for the bay.

I love that beach and my kids had so much fun there when they were young.

Tempted to enter as I love Cornwall but it's so far away from us. We are on holiday in Fowey at the moment and I'm already dreading the drive home on Saturday.

Pericombobulations · 17/07/2025 17:43

Thats my favourite beach and watched that house being redeveloped when we have visited.

If I won pipe dream I would 100% live in it. I'm not sure it looks as good as the house that was there but the view would make it up to me. I did idlely browse when it was up for sale as my lottery win house.

NewAgeNewMe · 17/07/2025 18:08

I’ve already entered 😁

RaininSummer · 17/07/2025 18:28

I would like to win this one!

EachandEveryone · 17/07/2025 19:59

Is there a right move link to it?

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 18/07/2025 21:45

Would love a Rightmove link! I think we’d live in this one, though I don’t love the bedrooms. Also not sure where my pottery studio would go… need to see the outside and garage space.

It looks on the cliff on the omaze pics.

MyLov · 18/07/2025 23:55

I’d live in it. It’s mine and DHs dream property!

baldfrog · 19/07/2025 08:24

I’ve never entered before but have today as that is a dream home !

BuyingButterAndSatinSandals · 22/07/2025 15:21

Just some information for any subscription holders. I recently had an email to say they were putting my £20 monthly subscription up to £25 from next month. This annoyed me a bit - as well as not having won a house of course or one of the other worthwhile prizes! - so I decided to cancel my subscription. It is £240 a year as it is and the increase would take it to £300 a year. That is not a small amount to most people! I like to support the charities but I can do that directly.

When I logged into my account and clicked cancel on the subscription page, then clicked too expensive on the reason page, I was then offered a 50% discount for the next 3 months to continue. I accepted that as it means I will pay £12.50pm which is better than the £20 I pay now and the £25 they wanted me to pay from August. In all likelihood I'll cancel after the 3 months is up but it seems worthwhile to continue until then.

I hope this helps someone else. Good luck everyone.

The Norfolk house is still tied up in planning problems tape by the sound of it and hasn't yet been passed on to the winner.

DilemmaDelilah · 23/07/2025 08:39

@BuyingButterAndSatinSandals thank you very much for this tip. I have done it.

BuyingButterAndSatinSandals · 02/08/2025 21:37

You're welcome. Do check @DilemmaDelilah and any others that the correct reduced amount is taken. Mine was the right amount but someone on another thread said the full amount had still been taken for them. Contact Omaze if so and they should refund.

piscofrisco · 03/08/2025 08:41

I’ve just got back from a week in Porthcothan and can confirm the house is stunning, (though more for its location than itself iyswim), and also that because I walked past it several times that means I will now surely win it so hard luck ladies! 😂

EachandEveryone · 03/08/2025 13:38

Oh is it far from the beach? Is there a train station because when I win it I will have to go by train.

realistically if you won it is it worth just using it as a holiday home or would it drain money?
