Is there labels to label your frozen food with that you can peel off easily?

the next time when you want to use the container for something different.
We don't label anything at the moment and it's like curry roulette when we take something from the freezer!
Help!

Yes, freezer labels exist! I got mine on amazon. Lakeland probably do them.

pizzaHeart · 17/07/2025 08:35

I cut a small piece of paper, sign it and stuck with cello tape

NotMeNoNo · 17/07/2025 08:35

Roll of white electrical tape and a Sharpie.

Coffeeishot · 17/07/2025 08:35

I use a Sharpie and initial the boxes but mostly i use freezer bags and just write on them, i would have thought sticky labels would have just froze on do they not ?

FritataPatate · 17/07/2025 08:36

Bumping, because we label containers with a sharpie and they’re becoming indecipherable!

YippieKayakOtherBuckets · 17/07/2025 08:41

Masking tape and a sharpie.

lovemycbf · 17/07/2025 08:42

I saw online to use masking tape and a permanent pen to write on and it’s great just peels off when you’re done

I've got a label printer, it uses plastic tape (the paper tapes don't work well in a freezer). I can peel off the labels after I've used whatever's in the containers and use them again.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/07/2025 08:52

I just write on mine with a Sharpie, and scrub it off later if needed.

OhNoMyChocMelted · 17/07/2025 08:55

I use whiteboard type pens on the lid. Washes off easy

Skybyrd · 17/07/2025 08:58

I also use masking tape, with a ballpoint/biro/sharpie. Basically whatever pen I have to hand. MT peels off really easily and can taped around containers with poor lid seals.

Scotch tape and a sharpie.

I also recommend masking tape and a sharpie - used by many chefs in commercial kitchens because it's much cheaper than the 'special' labels and doesn't leave an awful sticky residue which is hard work to remove.

Is masking tape a one-use thing? Scotch tape can be written on, erased with cream cleaner and then used again. And again, And again ...
No sticky residues because you don't need to take it off.

CuriousKangaroo · 17/07/2025 09:29

Frog tape and a sharpie is the best solution I have found. Frog tape stays on but peels off easily when you need it to, the writing doesn’t smudge and stays clear forever. (I occasionally find stuff I have frozen from a year ago and while I have to chuck it at that point, at least I can read what I am throwing away!)

HelpMeRonda · 17/07/2025 10:29

Thanks all.
I think I'll start with the masking tape option as I have some already.

Yes, it's single use but I can live with that. I'm sorry but I'm not getting the Cif out to clean freezer labels Grin.

WaitedBlankey · 17/07/2025 11:32

I love my label machine. It’s an Dymo, fairly basic model.

Everything in the freezer has a label with the contents and the date I did made it. No more “is it gravy or stewed apple?” mishaps.

They peel off really cleanly as well.

Balloonhearts · 17/07/2025 11:34

Write on the smooth side with permanent marker. Big Wipes take it straight off.

GlobalCitz · 17/07/2025 11:34

Washi tape is perfect

SisSuffragette · 17/07/2025 11:59

Masking tape

It only takes a tiny dot and I keep mine handy under the sink. so it's no biggie.

You don't want to get the Cif out to clean labels every time; I don't have to get the masking tape out to re-label every time.
