As in, you hear someone's name upon introduction and your friend whispers "ooh she doesn't look like a Jane!"
I said "what exactly does a Jane look like?!"

Can someone look like a name?
Does a Francesca look vastly different from a Frances?
Does a Frank look different from a Frankie for example?

Do you think people's perceptions of a name change their behaviour towards them?

Nope. When people hear my first name they expect a blonde middle aged slightly reformy white woman, and when they see my surname they expect a Chinese person

They get a young Mediterranean/Arabic kid with butt length dark hair and a liberal view.

I look exactly like my name apparently, because about 80% of people say so when I introduce myself.

Nope, because according to my surname I can't have the eye and hair colour I do.

Yes, 100%. My name implies slightly fat, mumsy, perimenopausal, zero style, tired-looking, etc. 🤦‍♀️. When I was younger and slimmer, I was told I looked like a Willow, though.

Isadora is quite a name to pull off 😉

Well my name means gift from god so obviously I do look like my name 😂

I went to school with a Joy the most misrerable kid you could ever meet, i bump into her occasionally bless her still the same 😀

I dont know if I look like my name but people are never suprised that it is my name it is very of it's time.

Apparently, I didn't suit the name that I was given. Teachers expected me to be 'naughty' and people said, "You don't look like an X. You look like a <insert generic 80's/90's name>". Unfortunately, most of the suggested names that I suited (in their opinions) were names of my many cousins!

I changed my name when I was older, to something more classic but not overly common (until a certain film came out, and the name suddenly became quite popular). Now, nobody believes that I was ever called anything else😊
