Ducks in a row. It really annoys me. Don't know exactly why. Usually about some awful partner OP is about to leave.

Gruttenberg · 15/07/2025 13:01

Unalived makes me cringe. The word is dead.

Also "passing", "passed". Died and dead will suffice (although I can see where some people prefer "passed away"). And this from someone who has seen more of her fair share of death over the years.

vitahelp · 15/07/2025 13:04

“Can I pick your brain?”

BitSilly · 15/07/2025 13:05

"Makes me die"

Hollibobs
Besties used by adult females in my experience to describe a cliquey group of (grown up) mean girl types
Amazeballs
Journey
IYKYK - smug and cliquey quite frankly

Wilfrida1 · 15/07/2025 13:06

No worries!

I wasn’t worried.

LuckyAnt · 15/07/2025 13:06

• Aw, bless
• "The boy" when referring to own boyfriend/husband [favoured by a particular type of middle class woman, and I say this as a middle class woman]
• Forever home
• Early doors
• Ideate
• Going forward

Imstillmagic · 15/07/2025 13:06

"Caught feelings" like wtf? Did you catch a disease too?

WestEndGirls · 15/07/2025 13:06

“Posed up a storm”. Yuk - lazy, lazy journalism.

Brefugee · 15/07/2025 13:07

have not RTFT because i think it would be bad for my blood pressure:

Picky bits makes me suicidal

SharpWriter · 15/07/2025 13:08

I was like - grrrrrr.
At the end of the day (also mentioned by a pp) - I always fill in with 'it gets dark'.

‘Cooking tea’
’I was sat there’

Makes my teeth hurt!

It’s not just me then! I’m always querying the word sat in this context. If you are in a chair surely it’s sitting?

LadySuzanne · 15/07/2025 12:46

I hate this, too. All I can think of is toddlers and potties.

I'm not sure I know what this means , definitely never heard it!

the80sweregreat · 15/07/2025 13:09

Living my best life.
Most of President Trump’s sayings , but at least it’s not the usual political word salad the others use I suppose
… err , word salad ..
reaching out
Cheap as chips.

VickyEadieofThigh · 15/07/2025 13:10

Finding her/his tribe.

People on here use it when they mean their child finding friends. I read a thread aloud to my partner recently and when I read that bit she winced and said "Sounds a tad tastelessly racist."

TheBuffetInspector · 15/07/2025 13:11

Poonami.

Baby shat everywhere. Fuck off with your Poonami.

the80sweregreat · 15/07/2025 13:11

Leaning in ‘is bad. I imagine people leaning over.

looselegs · 15/07/2025 13:11

Making memories
Holibobs
Famalam
Then all 3 together on an Instagram post - 'On holibobs, making memories with my famalam'
Cringe...

Manxexile · 15/07/2025 13:12

A weird turn of phrase and strange use of pronouns that lots of Mumsnetters seem to like to use and I've never seen elsewhere.

eg using "Her and her sister did ..." or "Her and her partner went ..." etc etc rather than "She and her sister did ..." or "She and her partner went..." etc etc.

I doubt these same people would say "Her did this..." or "Her went away..."

Lorrymum · 15/07/2025 13:13

Touching base
Thinking outside the box

Housewife2010 · 15/07/2025 13:13

Describing things as "marmite". I don't have strong feelings about it; it's only adverts which make people think it's divisive.

Katherine9 · 15/07/2025 13:14

“My world” - often posted by newly single mums with photos of their kids on Facebook.
