What does a stomach ulcer feel like?

I have a dull pain that comes and goes right under my waistband in my upper abdomen, right hand side. I can pinpoint exactly where the pain is but I can’t feel anything like a lump.

It seems to settle but then when I’m stressed it comes back. Occasionally it wakes me up in the night (I sleep on my front).

Or perhaps it’s something else.

The pain isn’t that bad so I haven’t been to the doctors. Then it goes away again for a while.

No other symptoms.

The location might suggest gallstones?

Interesting. Thank you. The pain isn’t severe but I’ll bear that in mind.

Please do get checked for gallstones.

I had painful stomach symptoms for years, but it did not present as typical gallstone symptoms. It absolutely was gallstones and after some very miserable years of trying every diet going, being diagnosed (wrongly) with IBS, and ultimately reconciling myself to thinking these symptoms flared up with stress and was just my life now, I became so ill that I was admitted to hospital and stayed there on morphine for five days. Gallstones. Had my gallbladder out privately and feel like a new woman.

I've been wondering the same thing but my pain is on the left so assume not gallstones.

Mine was dead centre, never on the right weirdly.
