Best portable Bluetooth speaker

I’m after a good quality portable speaker. We currently have a really good one in the house but it’s fairly cumbersome & requires plugging in. So now I’m looking for a portable one for when I’m perhaps in the garden/camping/BBQing, etc.

Happy to pay up to £150-£200 max.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Thank you in advance.

I like the Anker ones

I’ve had this one for 4 years and it’s great, really good sound

I’ve an old Bose one. It’s still amazing but was expensive back in the day. My son has a JBL Flip and he loves it.

Sonos Roam 2.

If you wanted to spend a bit more I would go for this

We have a small Anker one from Amazon, it really packs a punch for its size and and sound quality is excellent .
i would add that we’ve found all Anker products (phone battery chargers) excellent

Thank you folks. I looked at the Anker ones but my initial thought was ‘buy cheap, buy twice’
That’s not to discredit them. I was rather thinking of if I pay a bit more, it may last longer?

Anyone got the Beats portable? Or the Bang & Olufsen? Would I just be throwing money at something when I could get similar for a fraction of the price?

I’ve got Tribit XSound which was a gift. I love it. It’s small enough to fit in a bag and the Teens keep stealing it so it must have their seal of approval.

Anker are a decent brand. I have several of their power banks and a few Eufy items too.

If you want a premium brand, however, I wouldn’t get Beats. I’d get the Sonos I recommended above.

I use my anker one daily and in the bathroom where it’s steamy and it’s never skipped a beat in 4 years
if it broke I would be ordering the exact same one!

I have the Bose Revolve Soundlink had it about 5 years and can’t fault it. High quality crisp sound

SingleAHF · 13/07/2025 18:20

I also have the small anker and it's ideal

if you want a portable speaker that lasts give the pine beat a try, it's from a new UK brand (poca audio) that's all bout making products last longer. I believe it's serviceable and comes with a 30-month warranty we recently bought it and were really chuffed! guests keep asking about it because of how good it sounds and feels.

FrenchandSaunders · 31/07/2025 17:15

Sonos Roam

comeondover · 31/07/2025 17:31

JBL are good

DiligentStrawberry · 31/07/2025 22:23

I recently upgraded my sturdy little travel worn UE mini boom (had since 2014 !) for a Bose SoundLink Flex Portable Speaker (2nd Gen) Link didn't post !
Friends had theirs in serveral locations. But I do second Anker for reliability as well.

SpandauValet · 31/07/2025 23:32

These are amazing minirigs.co.uk

Matilda1981 · 31/07/2025 23:33

JLB are really good, have a tiny portable speaker made by them and a PartyBox 310 which is a brilliant speaker, probably overkill for what you want tho but they do smaller ones!

CrochetMaster · 22/09/2025 13:08

you can also get the pine beat on Amazon, I'm getting it for my DS

PiggyPigalle · 22/09/2025 13:12

It's not a speaker you need for the garden, but headphones.
