Anyone want to help me with a garden festival

On the weekend of Glastonbury I got swept up in the moment (watched it on tv) and decided to host a summer party with a festival theme. So far I've made a flyer and sent it out. Oh and I've arranged to borrow dj decks and do a set..

HELP me please 🙏

All ideas welcome

P.S I've never seen nor played decks in my life!

Sorry you're going to do the set? Is that not something... you need to learn?! Hats off to you OP you're very ambitious!

How many have you got coming? When are you doing it?

TheEndlessNight · 11/07/2025 14:33

Hi @Pootles34 it's in August and around 20 people in my tiny garden

Yeah going to do a set. I mean not saying it will be long but.....

What exactly are you asking advice on? How to use dj equipment? Or food/drink/decor?

Personally, I’d forget the decks, and just stick on a playlist and enjoy myself.

@ClearStory

Advise for areas, food etc would be fab. Will definitely be doing the decks as if nothing else it will be a laugh. I do have a Spotify back up list.. so actually any music recommendations would be great.

Decks are quite hard to get used to

How big is your garden? Adult ball pit or bouncy castle big?

Chill tent with bean bags.
Straw bales to sit on.

TheDandyLion · 11/07/2025 14:43

Get the warm beers in, hire a portaloo, shit flags, make everyone park 4 miles away, burn the sausages and charge £15 each, make sure there's a queue at the water tap.

TheNightingalesStarling · 11/07/2025 14:43

If proplecare staying over.. put up tents before starting the drinking...

TheEndlessNight · 11/07/2025 16:16

A few people are staying over but in the house no tents @TheNightingalesStarling

@TheDandyLion dh is on the bbq will tell him to set his prices at £15 per burger.

@SewerOrLess not big enough for a bouncy castle unfortunately but that's a great idea. I like the straw bale idea for seats.

@NeverTrustTheScales hopefully all will be fine 🤞
