How did your periods stop?

I'm 55 and still having periods. I've been keeping a log since 2023, to monitor them. I really want them to stop!!

In 2024, I had 7 periods. This year, I've only had 2 - one in February and one in May. But here's the thing, I've never skipped more than 2 in a row.

I feel like if I miss July and August, that'll be 3 in a row which is progress. I also think I have period pain now, so it could be imminent. 😩

I'm wondering how periods wind down, generally? If anyone wouldn't mind sharing.

After a hysterectomy due to cancer!

Mine just stopped when I was 53. No wind down, just an abrupt stop.

I am 49 no period since February, now on HRT so likely to have some withdrawal bleeds but I don't think I can count them

I m 46, last year I went 5 months without a period, but then got 3 in a row. This year I ve had 3 in total, but have felt pms ey without having a period, at times. I ld love if the finished up. I ld prefer that to this limbo state.

I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer aged 48 . I had a mastectomy first and then chemotherapy plus 2 trials ( I was hitting it with everything they had)
My period started the day after my operation and chemotherapy began before the next one was due. The next one never came so I had chemo side effects coupled with menopause all at the same time.
I wouldn't recommend it although I never had hot flushes so there's that .

A wind down a bit like yours and then a very heavy one and then nothing - 49 though ( sorry)

A slow fade. Gradually becomming lighter and less frequent over about 3 years... last few have just been very light spotting for a couple of days, several months apart. Last one was October, and i suspect that might be it now. I'm 54.

I had the coil as my periods were extremely heavy and erratic. The menopause happened by itself. Nothing for years then one very light period for half a day.... turned out that was the final one

When I got a Mirena coil put in when I was 46. Never had another period, thank god.
