Weekend in the heat

What's everyone's weekend plans? We have paddling pool up and it will be too hot in middle of day for the dog but I do get so bored staying in! Been to cinema recently. What does everyone else do?

We are not very tolerant of the heat so we will stay in and try and cope! Not very interested. Sunday looks bearable at least.

Not a clue, it's going to be roasty toasty, expect the dogs to snooze most of the day and whilst I'd like to go out I suspect most places will be heaving and it's not fair to take the dogs to a country park type place in 27degree heat.

@MiddleAgedDread yes it's due to be 33 over the weekend here. I think i need to resign myself to a weekend largely inside!
@CatKings it's hot all weekend here- i do a bit bored when it's too hot!

Pool is out and filled. Non alcoholic beers and gin in fridge. Food shop completed.

Saturday, cleaning and gym in the morning, then sitting outside a pub. Then having a nap when I get home.

Sunday - gardening early on, then lying down in the shade. And watching some football.

Beansandcheesearegood · 10/07/2025 15:51

@Glitchymn1 sounds like you're embracing it! That's what I need to do!

Lounger out.. under the shade of my very large tree.
Alexa playing... Kindle in hand. Cold flask of water.. sun dress... sun hat.. factor 50 and let the sun and heat care for my brutally hurting body.
Sunday a day out to the coast ( sister lives near the East coast). Tea at hers then a game of cards.. ( four of us).

We aren't fans of the heat at all

We are going swimming on Saturday then watching a film with the blinds closed to help keep the house cool.

Sunday will be in the house probably just playing with DC. Might get paddling pool out in the shade

I’ll be watching Wimbledon (in the relative cool of the living room), for large chunks of the weekend!

Hate this type of weather. Food shop done today. Beers in ready for the football final Sunday. Other than that laying next to a fan and keeping the cat’s water bowls topped up.

We just set up the paddling pool, not just the kids will enjoy it but our feet will get a little cool down time as well.
Ah.... Sitting on a deck chair feet in the cool water with a beer or a wine in hand, sounds good to me.
For the rest it will be indoors , or pub or bistro patio, way too hot to think of cooking, and there's only so many salads you can eat.
Keep cool everyone!

Just trial runned a sorbet mix in maker (peach, cherry juice and passion fruit) a winner
So will get a basket full of fruit tomorrow - the family discussion includes lemon/lime and mint: strawberry and nectarine:
We all have a stack of reading
and we got x4 new hammocks this week

so if we put that all together eating sorbet, whilst reading in a hammock - could be a lot worse!

Suntree32 · 10/07/2025 16:25

Working in a hot visitor centre, without air conditioning. Could be worse, DH fixing combines, often in the middle of fields, with no shade at all 😥
