What do you have? Don't want to spend too much and would like Alexa.

If you’d like a smart speaker with Alexa (I.e one that can be controlled by voice saying “alexa” then you need an Alexa device like the Echo Dot or Echo Spot, which are currently on a good deal for Prime Day on Amazon.

Other devices like the Google Nest or Apple HomePod will do similar, working as a smart speaker that can be voice controlled.

If you want a speaker that’s Bluetooth, can connect to phones and other devices and a bit more powerful sound wise bit but not voice controlled I’ve had good results with both JBL and Wonderboom

I have an Anker Soundcore Mini, it was about £20, it's much more portable than my Alexa is.

We had a bose 500 but it's no longer responsive to Alexa voice commands so looking for a less expensive replacement.
We have an old dot in the bedroom and she's pretty good but I think I need something more powerful in the main living space.

If you’re used to a Bose the chances are most of the £50 ish smart speakers aren’t going to be powerful / quality enough. The Sonos Roam looks like it’s on quite a good Amazon Prime Day deal, gets good reviews for sound quality and has voice control. Ive also had refurbished Bose products via their official site if you’re keen on them.
