Documentary about Band Aid

Am watching Band Aid documentary.This was an amazing attempt by the biggest artists in the 1980s ,obviously they didn’t fast forward to the 2020s but I think it was an amazing effort by people who could make a difference back in those days.

I haven't watched this I don't think - unless it's a repeat/on iPlayer - but it was big news to have all those artists record together at the time and it was pulled together really quickly too. I remember Live Aid, that was an amazing day. And also Michael Buerk's reporting from Ethiopia on the vast famine there. It was horrific.

I was only a teenager when this happened with the band aid song and I do remember Michael Burke’s report . I was amazed at how quickly they managed to write it and get it cut and out for distribution. I didn’t realize they would play it every single Christmas or how successful it would be at that time. It certainly changed the world a bit , people were not aware of how bad things were back then.
The lyrics were criticized and still are, but they wrote it within a day or so and wanted something catchy I suppose. It certainly made an impact straight away.
