Painting wall over dark colour

Do I need a primer or would white paint be ok?! I’m painting baby pink over a teal colour. Walls are fine other than the dark colour… white paint seems cheaper hence my question

Depends how much cheaper than the pink. You may still need two coats of pink over the white, so you’ll need to work out how many coats of white to do and then how to not be left with any. Maybe buy a not too massive tub of white?
